Out of the several things that inspired me to paint video-game scenery, I really felt something after seeing Kristoffer Zetterstrand's Counter-Strike paintings. The boundary-breaks clipping through the geometry of the map to reveal the pitch-black void of the empty skybox below enraptured me.

When I found my appreciation for painting I came back again and again to these virtual subjects for the surreal and striking visuals they provided. It also became a way to commemorate the moments I shared with good friends playing these games together-- and to appreciate and examine the artistry of the talented developers who made them.
