K. Guillory is the co-founder of Immersivism.
K. Guillory is an illustrator and writer who documents virtual design and gaming trends. She currently writes for UploadVR while occasionally publishing short comics about horror and technology.
In 2016, Guillory painted a virtual avatar for fun while joining an art workshop in Second Life. After speaking with fellow artist Bryn Oh about her findings, Guillory decided a virtual art movement was possible. She dedicated several years to researching different ways of painting what one sees in VR on a physical canvas. A breakthrough was finally reached in 2024 when she began to work blind contour drawing into her methods.
Presenting her findings to different groups in 2024, interested artists voted to change the temporary movement name "Gridism" (as it was named in 2016) to "Immersivism".
She is originally a Detroit native who now resides on the East Coast.
