IMMERSIVISM

I'm astraltripper, a Chicana card slinger and magic flinger from Texas. Over the last decade, I've been honing my skills in divination, art, mediumship, and creative expressions of the heart. I began my creative journey through cosplay photography, and pivoted to painting to begin exploring my dreamspace and waking intuition.

 

This transition led me on a homecoming to my maternal family's roots by way of curanderismo (Mexican folk healing), where I began to focus on honing my creative eye through somatic experiencing and ritual. Art remains the foundation of my spiritual praxis, and allows me to bridge the gap between dreams and waking life.

 

The driving force behind my creative process is exploring the liminality of identity through the intersections of childlike wonder, neurodivergence, generational trauma, and the spiritual healing process.

 

My art is an invitation to meet me at the crossroads and surrender to the power of our collective imagination. What I love about Immersivism is that is layers a full body experience into my creative process. Being able to full extend my limbs and move my body while painting in VR adds a depth to visionary experiences when I am out of headset. My Immersivist art is an exploration of my subconscious and storytelling aspirations.
